The Lorain Skate Park Project

The Project

In October of 2021 the city of Lorain, Ohio announced plans to hold a public forum to discuss building a new skate park on the city's east side. Chad Muska posted the news to social media to spread the word about the event in his hometown. This was exciting news for north east Ohio skateboarding. Chad has been one of the most influential pro skateboarders for the last 20 years. Famously known for being in the Tony Hawk video games. The forum was held at The Palace Theater in downtown Lorain October 14th, 2021. Mayor Jack Bradley said that more people attended the forum than any other public meeting in the citys history.

The forum went well with the community showing tons of support for Lorain to create a skate park. City officials laid out the roadmap for the construction and potential areas of interest to build at. Everyone shared their ideas for the skate park during the Q&A session lead by Muska. The feedback was very positive and everyone seemed to be in favor for the new skate park.

In September it was announced that Spohn Ranch was chosen as the design crew for the new skate park. This was great news for the skateboarding scene. They are well known for some of the most iconic skate parks in the world. With the announcement also came a online survey to gather the publics input on the parks design. Shout out to those that participated in the survey. Sharing your ideas choosing obstacles and layouts helps progress the design process.

December 7th at the Palace Theater a design forum is being held by Chad Muska and Spohn Ranch!!!! The last forum had a high turn out so show up and lets make this one even bigger. The doors open at 6pm. This is a community event and all are welcome. Come show your support and share your ideas towards the parks design. I will be keeping this website updated regularly whenever any new information is available to share. Follow the project on social media for other new posts and information or for any questions. Hope to see the community come together so we can make this design epic.

These sick custom shirts are going to be at the forum. To get one all you have to do is make a donation at the event. All proceeds will go towards funding the park. A limited supply is available so its first come first served. The skate parks official name is going to be the Longfellow Skate Park.
